Our commitment
Odis Slone Realty follows the federal Fair Housing Act and Ohio’s fair housing law. We don’t steer anyone toward or away from any home, street or community. We don’t describe homes or neighborhoods by who “should” live there. We show every client every home that fits what they ask for, and we give everyone the same service.

Who is protected
Under the federal Fair Housing Act, it is illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental, financing or advertising of housing because of:
- Race
- Color
- Religion
- Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
- National origin
- Familial status (households with children under 18, pregnant people, and people securing custody of children)
- Disability
Ohio law (Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4112) protects all of the classes above and adds two more:
- Ancestry
- Military status
Some cities have their own fair housing ordinances that protect additional groups, and we follow those local rules too.

How to report housing discrimination
If you believe you’ve been treated unfairly because of any protected class, you can file a complaint. It’s free, and you don’t need a lawyer. Complaints generally must be filed within one year of the incident.
